Can i balance carbs on another motorbike and fit them to my motorbike ?

My mechanic from a reputable dealer in Aberdeen Scotland is doing a homer for me, he has stripped my carbs and says he is going to balance them on a bike at his work then fit them to my suzuki bandit at home, i know it is something to with adjusting the butterfly valves but shouldnt each bike be different ?? this doesnt seem right to me, any ideas ??
