Auto Insurance in NJ Question?

No, unfortunately the claims process can take a long time. If the driver of the vehicle was in fact driving without permission than the owners insurance will not cover damages to your vehicle. Your only option would be to sue the driver of the vehicle. Just because the owner has the vehicle in their possession doesn't mean that it wasn't stolen. A family member may have used the car and now the owner is trying to say that they didn't have permission to avoid her rates increasing due to a negligent accident. Pretty much the only thing you can do now is wait for liability to be determined. Save all receipts for rental cars in the mean time. You can consult a lawyer about other options but if you hire an attorney to represent you it only slows down the claims process.
