Oil controllers with a tinted moistuizer?

im going to get the laura mercier oil free tinted moisturizer because i have pretty clear skin so i dont need that much coverage but im oily. they say to not to use a moisturizer befor a tinted moisturizer but can i use clean and clear mattifying moisturizer or should i just buy mac matte gel as a primer also what powder should i get to set this tinted moisturizer
